CAVES OF THE LA VIEJA AND OF LA ARAÑA: SIMILAR SCENES, SIMILAR MYTHS?
Abstract
Iconographic comparison of the main scenes of La Vieja and La Araña, in order to demonstrate the
formal and gestural coincidence of the pictograms and the similarity of the distribution of the
characters in the scenes. These circumstances show common and shared myths and stories in the
mental universe of the Mesolithic hunter bands of the Iberian Peninsula.
